The German Airport Performance (GAP) research project is a joint study between different German universities (University of Applied Sciences Bremen, Berlin School of Economics and Law and the International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef-Bonn).

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and dedicated students in their undergraduate and postgraduate studies are currently working for the project. The goal of the project is to study changes in the institutional structure and performance of airports, the effect of commercialization and the competitive environment on them, and to consider future requirements with regards to financial and ecological regulation.

The project is divided into different teams:
1.Team Financial Performance & Benchmarking
2.Team Charges & Airport-Airline Relationship
3.Team Ground Handling
4.Team Non Aviation
